PC AirCon PAC400

Notre confrère PC Perspective a mis en ligne le test d'un accessoire de refroidissement assez atypique: le PC AirCon PAC400 de Waffer Tech. Il s'agit d'un système électrothermique basé sur l'effet Peltier qui vient se placer dans l'une des baies à l'avant du PC pour "créer" de l'air frais et l'envoyer à l'intérieur du boîtier. Si le système parait encombrant, moyennement efficace et gourmant (attention à la puissance de l'alimentation), il fera peut-être la joie de certains overclockers "fous". Pour l'utilisateur lambda, il parait clair qu'il ne remplacera pas les ventilateurs en façade.

The unit is capable of delivering cool air (4~5ºC below ambient) into a standard PC enclosure, but how much real cooling it will do is affected by many factors. [...] Using a thermoelectric cooler offers several advantages (compact size, solid-state, no moving parts, etc.) but also suffers from several disadvantages as well (low efficiency, high power requirements, etc)."
